Lamb Curry
Yeah ,lamb curry ....I had made a big brouhaha about this to some of my freinds(and they know who they are;)) and here Iam writing about it .
I recently made australian lamb curry ..took this big chunk of meat and chopped it up , marinated it overnight in yogurt and spices and then cooked it on slow heat ....
It turned out great ...served it with Rumali roti (for those of you who dont know what rumali roti is ...Its a very large, very thin bread from Northern India .Its supposed to be as fine as a silken scarf and is cooked on what looks like an upturned wok - a convex metal pan ...
In the picture below the rumali roti's look like the usual chappati (indian bread), but they have been folded a couple times to fit them on the serving dish .)

I LOVE lamb!
My town store has salea on lamb chops a lot lately. I stock up.
I even bought some ground lamb to make Scottish Meat Pies...yum!
Curry, I think, is an acquired taste. I like it...but only lightly used.
The breads kind of look like flour tortillas...cool!
why lol paro?:)
hey michele
i love lamb chops and lamb in a lof of other forms ..
yes curry is an acquired taste and so are all the other cuisines in the world..
to each his/her own :-)
and yeah the bread does look like tortillas but they r folded up and actually much bigger than they look in the picture
hey sophie ,
rumali rotis would not be available at the store typically ..they are not an everyday affair :-)
chappatis and rumali roti are usually made from the same flour ..chappatis are much more petite than rumali rotis .Rumali rotis are bigger , much thinner and very fine ...commerically the dough is flipped out and swung around jsut like they do it for pizza ..I do not possess that expertise so i usually roll it out very thin and big.
As to making it you sure can try ..First time might be abit tough but you will get better at it.
Iam glad you find all the food yummy..havent seen you around in a while
hope you are doing well and having a good holiday season
Wow Meenal! I'm impressed. You made Rumali Rotis? :o
Can you tell us how? I got till the rolling the roti, thin and large. After that, where do you cook it?
did you make the rumali rotis yourself? I have been looking for restaurants in seattle that serve rumali roti...
