So both Valentine's day and my anniversary came and went in a second. That may be so but I now have a new story to pass on to my grandkids...... That Grandpa (thats my husband) loved Grandma(that's me) so much that he beat her to buying her own car.Instead he went ahead and bought it for her as an anniversary present .One of the sweetest and grandest gesture of love.Do people, do that anymore? Well obviously, because Grandpa did :-)
Yes, freinds.I got a new car for my 4th wedding anniversary and that right now,is my new love.
What did I do for him...Lots of presents and ofcourse made a mushy , romantic ,(some would even call it corny but who cares) valentines day meal for him replete with candles, chocolates and roses. That, because I am a die hard romantic .
Witness for yourself as I firmly uphold the old adage "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach "
Sphagetti with Meatballs, Garlic Bread, Shrimp Scampi and Tira Misu cake ,anyone ? I promise to come back with the recipes from this and the superbowl entry.Meanwhile enjoy the pictures .
The set up (sounds almost sinister) :-)
Sphagetti with meatballs
Tiramisu cake
Cards, chocolates and wine seal the deal
Hmm , he likes it , he likes it not? Worry not girl , he loved it :)

How should one start - Congrats for the car / Congrats on completing four years with your hubby! or just congrats for such a wonderful spread on the occassion of Valentine for your hubbby, again.
Great job indeed!
BTW, please share the recipes soon, I am planning to cook something on the weekend. Would love to have some recommendations. NO INDIAN and VEG only.
Congrats Meenal and how can one not fall in love all over again, over that fabulous spread. and you are adorable!
WOW!!!! That table looks absolutely romantic. Congrats to u, Meenal.
Utterly butterly romantic! :) Congratulations on your anniversary and new car, Meenal! :)
OK, you put Martha Stewart to shame....
Food, personality and you are MUCH better looking!
Awesome post...again.
As for what I did on Valentines day...not much..after 20+ years together, the kids get the attention now. Doesn't mean he didn't get a card or that I didn't bake him anything, but 4 weeks ago, I discovered a new bakery the next town over, brought him back a sample and it turned out that this year was the first year I did NOT have to bake him a cake. My DH's Birthday is the day before Valentines..so it's his day that really is the focus this time of year.
I think its great that you have someone who appreciates your culinary efforts. My kids turn their noses at most, if not all, of my cooking. They'd be happy with Mac & Cheese... *sigh*
I mean, the other night, I baked chicken smothered in Cream of Mushroom soup, sour cream and Dry Sherry, sprinkled with paprika. Served over broad egg noodles. How basic can I get? My DH LOVED it! My kids....not.
Maybe that's why I enjoy all your pics. I appreciate your efforts.
Just wish I could taste them too!
**grin**
You are so teasing us with all those pics! Good work. When can we see the recipes?!
Meenal - You really went all out and fabulous for the occassion!!From breakfast to dinner! You do deserve that car for being such a lovely wife:-) My best wishes to the two of you!

About what you were planning to cook you mentioned " NO INDIAN and VEG only. "I understood the vegetarian part but what was no indian ..iam assuming it meant"Non-Indian".If thats what it meant , firstly it depends on what cuisines you fancy ...you could try thai recipes if you are looking for non-indian recipes
Let me know
thanks Indira ,

Hey Michelle ,
long time girl .
First of all , you went all out with your complimets.I quite simply dont know what to say.
Me and Martha Stewart ..lol ...Yes she's good.Yes,I want to be a billionaire like she is :-)but I have time on my side so I just might get there .Iam almost 4 decades younger than her)CHEEKY GRIN !
Wow , you both have been together 20 yrs ?Amazing!Belated happy bday to your husband and belated Val's day to you both .Iam not sure what I would do when we have been together 20 yrs .Hard to imagine .But time flies and before I know , we will be there .So I might be asking you for tips.
My cooking is more grown up.Kids, now they are another ball game.I think my focus might change when I become a mom .Because kids are picky and like well,non-adult food.
When you talk of your kids ..Iam reminded of my niece who is happy with Mac and cheese any day too.
The recipe you mentioned sounds yum and simple .Not basic at all.
Maybe you will taste my recipes soon and I would like to say thankyou so very much to you too for appreciating my work.:-)
Take care -Meenal
